How to get there

Tours has two TGV (high speed train) stations: Tours Centre-ville opposite the Vinci Centre (linked to Paris Montparnasse train station, journey time just over 1 hour) and Saint Pierre des Corps (linked to Charles de Gaulle Airport with journey time approx.1 hour 30-45 min and to Paris Montparnasse train station with journey time juts over 1 hour) with continuous shuttle service to the centre of Tours (journey time: 5 min).

Tours is only one hour from Paris (Montparnasse train station) by TGV train with direct connections to all major international airports.
The TGV train from Charles de Gaulle Airport to Tours (via Saint Pierre des Corpes) runs five times per day with a journey time of around 1 hour 30-45 minutes.

Alternative way of reaching Tours from Charles de Gaulle Airport is to take the Air France bus to Gare Montparnasse (Paris Montparnasse train station) in central Paris (journey time 50 minutes, busses run every 30 minutes) and then transfer to the fast TGV train from Gare Montparnasse to the centre of Tours (journey time just over 1 hour).

Tours Val de Loire airport is just 20 minutes from the city centre (with direct flights to/from London Stansted and Lyon) while modern motorway networks link Tours with other major European centres.

The conference ends at 16:00h on Thursday, 19 March 2009 which makes it possible for the participants to take a TGV train to Charles de Gaulle airport at around 16:50h and arrive at the airport at about 18:40 h in time for flights departing after 20:00h.
