X.-M. Chen obtained his BSc (1983) and MSc (1986) degrees from Sun Yat-Sen (Zhongshan) University, and PhD degree (1992) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His current research interest is synthesis, structures and properties of functional coordination polymers and metal complexes, particularly those having porous structures and magnetic properties. He has published more then 300 papers in the international scientific journals and has a citation H-index of 61. He is currently member of advisory boards of Chem. Commun. (RSC), CrystEngComm (RSC), Eur. J. Inorg. Chem. (Wiley), and topic editor of Cryst. Growth Des. (ACS).
