Stephen Mann

Stephen Mann is Professor of Chemistry and Director of the Centre for Organized Matter Chemistry in the School of Chemistry at the University of Bristol, UK. He is interested in the self-assembly, biomimetic synthesis and chemical emergence of complex forms of organized matter across extended length scales, and has published over 350 papers and a book entitled Biomineralization: Principles and Concepts in Bioinorganic Materials Chemistry.  Professor Mann is a Fellow of the Royal Society and has obtained numerous awards, including most recently the J. Chatt Medal and Lectureship from the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK in 2007. He is currently on the editorial and advisory boards of several journals including Advanced Materials and Angewandte Chemie.
